Which pages you wish to refer to on the Chapter 13 Web site depends largely on who you are.

If you are a debtor, you may wish to Learn more about the Chapter 13 Trustee or View information of interest to debtors.

If you are on the Chapter 13 staff you will most often wish to Access case information or Communicate with our office staff by e-mail.

If you are an attorney, you may wish to do all of the above plus Download forms for your use and Link to legal information.

Learn more about the Chapter 13 Trustee describes our Mission and Services. It also provides a definition of Chapter 13 Bankruptcy and a description of a Chapter 13 case.

Communicate with our office staff offers several ways to reach us. It provides mailing addresses, phone numbers, office hours, etc., and a Staff Directory through which staff members may be contacted by e-mail. Click on a highlighted staff member name in the Staff Directory and a Message Composition window will appear in which you can type your message. The staff member's e-mail address will already be filled in.

View information of interest to debtors is in the form of questions debtors frequently ask. It provides basic information, such as what Chapter 13 bankruptcy is, how it is different from Chapter 7 bankruptcy, who may qualify for Chapter 13 bankruptcy, etc.

Access case information allows you to get information about individual cases by using a query form. You can access a case by entering either the case number or the last name of the debtor.

To access by case number, enter the number in the text entry field to the right of the words "Case Number." The first two digits, indicating the year the case was filed, are set at 96, but can be changed by deleting one number and typing another. Note that you must place your pointer in any text entry field and click before you can type in it. (Chapter 13 cases all have five-digit numbers aside from the year number. Leading zeros must be used for a number with less than five digits. For example, 215 must be entered as 00215.) Make sure that you specify the search field "Case" by clicking the radio button in front of the word "Case." Then click on the Search button. The individual case information will come up.

To access by the debtor's last name, enter the name in the text entry field to the right of the words "Debtor's Last Name." You don't have to capitalize the name. Enter only the last name. Make sure you specify the search field Name by clicking on the radio button in front of the word "Name." Then click on the Search button. A list of debtors with the last name you have typed will come up. Click on the one with the appropriate first name and case number. The individual case information will come up.
